Haters Going to Hate

I know that a lot of people are down on private servers, but I have been having a lot of fun playing TL. The custom additions GMMike has made all add a nice element to the game, but are not overpowering to the Lineage gameplay itself (I am still learning the custom features...but luckily my pledge knows a lot). He tries really hard to keep things balanced so that custom locations or items do not over-power existing items or hunting grounds etc. He also updates very frequently to fix bugs/errors and make any necessary corrections. Say what you will, but it is a fun server and a great game. The population isn't too bad here either, but we will always welcome more^^. Haters going to hate.

GMMike gave us a fox event this last week. Find special foxes. Kill. Repeat. Similar events had been on Live servers, but nice part about this one is that the foxes were pretty good experience to hunt. Most of NC events you either chose to participate in the event or you chose to keep leveling.

The foxes dropped lots of different things, but one of the most fun was the new level 75+ polymorphs. I think there were 3 different levels of polymorph. Here is one of the new elf ones...I think it is level 75?

The picture doesn't do the morph justice. It was really fast and pretty cool looking as well. So were all of the new polys.

One of the custom features is that items now level up. I am not sure exactly what makes an item level, but if you are wearing an item and hunting it will slowly gain experience. Once an item reaches a new level it gains a bonus. Most the bonuses are pretty modest. +3HP or MP, +1 elemental resistance, but here is a lucky one that I got for my new Silver Cloak.

When anyone makes an armor or weapon that is +4 over safe enchant there is a global message for everyone to see. Here is a crazy weapon message that popped up the other night when I was hunting. QQ wth? Soooo good haha. I haven't seen many of these messages since I started. There is no 'Ancient Books' in TL so making +10 or higher weapons is a lot more difficult than US Live servers.

All of the bosses have been made a lot stronger in this game. It makes it fun because you actually have to work as a team to end most of them, as opposed to LOA where I could run around on my knight and kill whatever I wanted without letting anyone else know that I was doing boss runs. Here is one of the custom bosses that spawns in wasteland, which is known as Kima, which is now a useful hunting spot compared with small wasteland on live lol.

I have been trying to help the pledge out at bosses now that I have leveled a little. Nothing great yet, but its fun.

NinjaStar and I took down Kurtz with just the two of us. Although he was double boxing so I guess it was three of us. It was really hard though haha. Kurtz has stupid high regen and a hard hit compared to live.

PvP is really fun on this server too. Other than playing this game with my friends PvP is the main reason I came to TL. It is a little different than live and I am still figuring it out. There is no dual-pink system. I am told this is 'old school' lineage style, but I didn't play back then so it just seems new to me haha. It makes people go chao a lot more though, and you actually drop items on the ground if you die so it is worth killing chao people. Full lawful people cant drop items, but they will lose experience and drop adena. I don't know how the adena amount is chosen, but I have gotten around 100k for every kill I have. My pledge makes fun of me because I have trouble getting un-chao. As soon as I start getting lawful I get in a fight again. More fun that way I guess haha. I use a chao set though, so I am weaker when chaotic, but I also don't risk my good things.

There is a PvP ladder that is automatically updated on the TL website to track all the fun and see who is doing well. I just recently was added to the bottom of the ladder, but I will hopefully climb up towards the top^^.

I probably wont update as much as I did for LOA, but there will still be new content going up...maybe every weekend or something.

I have been really busy since a little before LOA shutdown. I didn't even get to see any of the endgame things that Jetzen had haha.

I haven't been playing anything until yesterday morning. A few LOA friends talked me into trying TrueLineage. I was able to make it from 1-49 so far, and it has been pretty enjoyable. The server seems good for a private server, and the population was steady in the mid 60's and higher at times. Not as good as the 300+ that LOA had, but I think it has potential to keep climbing. LOA had lots of characters in shops or dualboxing all the time too so it was hard to get an actual user count.

I will see how things go, but I might start posting some screens or something from the private server.

Really NC? Really?

The NC team has announced that the North American Lineage servers will be brought down on June 29th, 2011. At this time Lineage will be done for good in this territory. I can understand the business decision behind this in some ways, but I think NC has handled the entire situation poorly. There is no offer to transfer characters to a different territory, and NC is not even going to assist players with trying to make a new account with any of the other territories that Lineage will continue to be played. I think the most upsetting part is not that Lineage is over. It is that Lineage is only over in North America. All of the other territories will continue to play and have updates for content for years to come. That is all I will say on that I guess.

Prior to the news of server shutdown my plan had been to level grind with some of my free time over the summer, and then join the main war on LOA. That obviously wont happen now, so most of the remaining time spent in game will be random fights and PvP.

Neighbor never had the uber-amazing items that some of the players from the start of LOA have, but my gears were at least decent, and I enjoyed it. No reason to hide level and stats anymore lol.


Vagisil whispered me during some fighting festivities and told me he had come over from DEP to have some fun at Top. Personally, I think this is pretty cool, and enjoy all the servers playing together and having fun with the little bit of time that we all have remaining. Even though he was fighting against me it was all in good fun. Then he started to trash my blog, and my pledge. What the hell? I never claimed to be some god of PvP, and will openly admit I am a noob. The blog is called NoobsRUs...

PurpleHaze was a group of friends that enjoyed gaming together. We fought on occassion, but that was a very small aspect of our gameplay. Are we noobs? Yes please!

I just don't see the point of trashing the community with so little time remaining haha. Why can't people just PvP and hunt for fun. Or move on and not bother at all. At least I attempted to add to the Lineage community by posting on this blog, and occassionally on the forums.

There has been tons of fighting since the announcement of the server closing. Teams keep switching back and forth. It is hard to keep track of who to hit or not hit because people are constantly changing pledges and sides etc. It has been fun though and I wish I had the chance to have leveled some more and joined a fighting pledge prior to Lineage getting shut down. There has been some trash talk too, but mostly just in good fun. A question mark here or there, or a 'why no venz' type remark. I think RushGirl counted wrong on this one and I thought it was funny. Looks like 2v1 to me, but I am tired so I don't know. My guess is that the other party member with me is LeChat. No offense to anyone else in my pledge, but LeChat is favorite person to fight with Lol. I always tried to come up with a name for our duo, but he never liked any of them...

Well fok off LeChat...LeBor for the win! Or NeiChat! Either way lol...

I would like to thank everyone that made Lineage fun for me. I will not name people specifically because there are too many to name. Too all of PurpleHaze and the people that ever said 'hi' or gave me tips and support along the way. Thanks for the good times^^. Maybe I will see you again down the road in another game or in real life. Until then I hope you all the best.

I have lots of screenshots from the end of game fights that I have been saving up. I might make one last post dedicated to nothing except those fights, but I am not sure yet.

I have also looked in to playing Lineage on a Japanese server. I know a few other people have already moved over. If I do this then I might continue to post my adventures from over there. Or if I find a new game I might post that stuff too. Honestly I don't know what I will do though. Lineage is the only game I have played, so I might just call gaming quits and focus on other things now that I have graduated college..Graduation May 20th, 2011!

All Good Things...

Hi all,

The time has come... for all Lineage NA servers to close and be shut down permanently. You can read the news on the main page of the official website - www.lineage.com. The servers will be shut down during normal maintenance on June 29th, 2011. Until then you can still log in and play with the Experience Giver in Gludio and go on a PK spree if you would like. Or just log in and chat with friends that you came to know and love after so many years. I would like to thank everyone that I have met along the way for an unbelievable experience. Also, thanks to GMs Jetzen, Nyx, Unicycle, and crew for the last couple of years (could have been worse without you). From the time with my very first royal, Elysians, to my very last royal, Botnaked, I have learned a lot in and out of the game through Lineage. I hope everyone had a memorable 10 years as well. This blog will no longer be updated with Lineage related stuff but it will be kept up for old times sake.

It is an awesome event right now, but nothing in this post is from the event. I had a lot of screens from before the event that I wanted to clear out. I will post about the event sometime after the next reset with some drops or something...that is assuming I get something worth posting haha.

I hunted Ice Caves for a few runs with Talina and Holme. She dropped unbelievably poorly lol. This is her best from our time...Really NC? 2 lines? Boo...

I went L4 a few times before the event with Samoa and LeChat. We were bored and all decided to use Sharna Scrolls. I think a knight hunting with a dagger is the worst thing to look at in-game. Poke..Poke..Poke.

I got him back though. Lol Forge, all you do is bark...bark. bark. bark.
